I know that's conventional wisdom but I'm not sure it's true. You are (generally)convinced by people with whom you share a large epistemic outlook. Probably easier to nudge people then swing them. I do follow a fairly broad spectrum. But unlikely to like/RT stuff I disagree with.

But therein lies the problem. Being convinced by people with whom you largely agree is tautological. It creates a positive feedback loop. I think this problem could be ameliorated if we were more charitable to ideas we didn't agree with - if we could see things from opposing POVs
