There are 23,000 Jihadis in the UK and we have debates on whether or not we should kill British ISIS fighters. Doesn't feel like they're failing here.

They're nowhere near their goal of turning the West into a caliphate, or even of increasing public support for their ideology. They've even failed in their attempt to sow terror. People are just getting on with their lives, shopping, going to concerts, etc.

That's an emotional appeal you're making there. Yes, it's sad what happened to them, but that doesn't mean that the jihadis are succeeding in their ultimate ideological goal of creating a Sharia utopia.

If anything, the fact that they feel desperate enough to attack kids' music concerts shows that they're utterly failing.

Did I dismiss it as no big deal? No, no I didn't. What I said was that the jihadis are failing in their ultimate goal of creating a Sharia utopia.

I generally disagree that "our servile establishment is inadequately responding to it", because I've seen what's actually being done, not merely what's reported in newspapers, and it strikes me as sensible and effective. The rest of your tweet I agree with.
