There are a number of ways to measure this. It can be the point of quickening (first autonomous movement), or the first sign of electrical brain activity, or the point at which the foetus can survive outside the womb (the viability of the foetus).

From what I understand, under the legislation that Caulfield campaigned against, a woman can abort a viable baby at full term and not be prosecuted. Neither could the supplier of the drugs that triggered the abortion.

That's not what Caulfield was fighting against, though. She wanted to retain a Victorian law that made all self-abortions illegal, regardless of what stage the foetus was at.
