I can think of one ideology that cannot be criticised.
Clearly, there are some nutters out there. Just as there are people like Thomas Mair, who murdered Jo Cox because of her support for multiculturalism. The thing is, these people are exceptions. Islam is criticized by countless people in the West every day, without reprisal.

In the eighties, during the Rushdie affair, things were different, because not many people criticized Islam. Now everyone in the West is doing it, and extremists know they can't kill everyone. So they kinda have to just live with it.

Here we have it. The equivalence of the threat because violence has been done. A logical fallacy. Come back to me when drawing cartoons of Mohammed doesn't result in global riots and editorial offices don't get redecorated with lots of little holes measuring 7.62mm in diameter.

I get all that, I really do. I was once firmly in your camp. But as I said, times have changed. Now we have a comic regularly being published, called Jesus and Mo (
@JandMo). This is one of many public criticisms of Islam. - 5 more replies
