That was very different, based on breeding people with desirable traits, and excluding those without them, rather than simply manipulating genetic material directly. The former caused genocide; the latter could prevent babies being born with nasty hereditary conditions.

Scares me because decisions will be made by whoever has the money & power. Clearly, compassion isn't held in high regard by Republicans or Evangelicals.

Whatever the wealthiest parents decide is worth paying for. And since they were made wealthy within our current society, this will likely be whatever society currently values: health, western attractiveness standards, intelligence, etc.
