Once upon a time, corporations sought advantage by championing right-leaning politics. Now they seek advantage by championing left-leaning politics. The reason for this is that lobbying governments has become less effective than lobbying the general public.
They're 2 separate issues. A corporation may well be affected by "socialist" legislation, but I wasn't talking about that. I was talking about lobbying. Corporations used to advocate rightist policies to govts, but now advocate leftist policies to the public as a form of PR.

What is a 'rightist' policy? Anyway, I doubt that PR is replacing lobbying any time soon.

A rightist policy advocates for more corporate freedom. And of course PR isn't going to replace lobbying; the point was that PR is now a form of public lobbying.
