Once upon a time, corporations sought advantage by championing right-leaning politics. Now they seek advantage by championing left-leaning politics. The reason for this is that lobbying governments has become less effective than lobbying the general public.

They're 2 separate issues. A corporation may well be affected by "socialist" legislation, but I wasn't talking about that. I was talking about lobbying. Corporations used to advocate rightist policies to govts, but now advocate leftist policies to the public as a form of PR.
