We really need to stop using the words "post-factual" & "post-truth". They imply that life was once factual, when actually human beings have always prioritized utility over truth. The only reason our age seems so dishonest is that we've become much better at recognizing bullshit.

I think polytruth is a better word. We filter out more BS than ever before but that doesn't necessarily mean we are better BS detectors

Polytruth implies that truth has refracted, like light through a prism, into multiple forms. I don't think the status of truth has changed. All that's changed is that data permeation is now so extensive that apophenia has become epidemic. So, "poly-lies" would be more accurate.
