Absolutely. I think this explanation dovetails with my own; that many were led to believe, by both Western and Russian media, that Trump was "not as bad as" Hillary, and they thus decided to take a risk - throw a spanner into the works to see what happened.

Trump can't take any credit at all for exposing Weinstein. He's just as much a devious scumbag as Weinstein, and possibly just as much of a sexual abuser.

In any case, it was a New Yorker journo (a liberal) who exposed Weinstein, not Trump or his supporters.
