This study is supported by another from 2016, which analysed the US House elections, and found that people with lower voices won a disproportionate share of seats. Clearly, a preference for deeper voices gives men a distinct advantage over women in elections (and life generally). Perhaps from now on election candidates should use voice synthesizers in debates? Or, less ludicrously, perhaps we could make everyone aware of this inherent bias?
