Either burqas are banned, or we allow men to continue forcing women to straitjacket themselves in burqas. The former is a small infringement of human rights. The latter is a huge one.

There's our fundamental disagreement. I believe men (and least of all GOVERNMENTS) shouldn't be allowed to tell women what to wear. Period.
