Ishiguro's not a bad pick for Nobel Prize. Personally, I would've given it to Ian McEwan, but there's always next year I guess.
Yup, couldn't agree more, Atonement is a masterpiece, and probably my fave book of his. What I love about McEwan's work is it's so dense, so many layers, and you always pick up new things with re-reads.
