A draft of the UN's 2017 Children & Armed Conflict report, which includes a blacklist of countries that treat children unethically, has been leaked. It's notable in that for the 1st time it lists the Saudi coalition for its Yemen crimes incl using child soldiers, bombing schools.

Of course, UK & US would rather Saudis weren't on the list as it would implicate them for the tech & support they provided, which has been crucial to the bombing, blockade & famine. Last year Boris Johnson blocked an inquiry into war crimes, saying Saudis alone should investigate

But last week intl pressure on coalition led to decision to open investigation into Yemen. It won't be a formal UN inquiry commission - that was shot down by Saudis - but it will allow investigators to examine all war crimes in what is now the world's worst humanitarian crisis

The only thing that makes me suspect this might be a whitewash is that the 2017 list has created a new category - called "improving" - and automatically added the Saudis to it, even though the Saudis have done little to earn such a categorization. Time will tell.
