I have a problem with Vegans that think no animal die when we grow plants! Totally deluded!

I can understand that. My problem with eating pigs is the thought that they're roughly as smart as three year old kids. Makes it seem like we're actually eating three year old kids, y'know?

is feeling pain proportional to intelligence. I doubt it is. I think it has to do more with how affectionate dogs are and loyal companions.

True. I think part of it is that cats & dogs express themselves in ways that we recognize in ourselves. Pigs and cephalopods are more alien, but they do feel fear. And the ethics of killing them isn't just about suffering; It's also about denying consciousness to sentient beings.

Grew up on a farm, so taking a knee on this one. But cats are stringy and dogs are necessary tools on a farm. Pigs, not so much

Yeah, I can understand how pigs would come to be eaten. But the thought that they're roughly as smart as three year old children makes their slaughter and consumption just seem so much more horrific. I'm not sure I'll be eating any more bacon/sausages.
