Would it be true to say that a coherent liberal is someone who looks forward to the possibility of being a conservative? Bear with me.
Create paradise, and people will learn to hate it. Liberals will always find problems in society. By addressing one, they'll cause another.

If the drive is for change & not goals. In the same way, a consistent conservative would become liberal if society changed enough.

It's all relative: depends on the opposition. If the opposition seeks more change than you, you're conservative. If not you're radical.
