Hard to be convinced by these. No proof Brits would be more responsible with guns than Yanks. Seems to me guns would raise UK murder rates.
Gun ownership has never been close to as ubiquitous in the UK as it is in the States, due to firearms acts 1920/1937/1968.

Plus, ownership of guns in UK was province of aristocracy and gentry, not hood-rats as it would be today.

Not particularly. It was quite common for people to regularly carry in the late 19/early 20th C without mass gun-crime as a result.
