6. I really liked Prometheus. Who are the Engineers, what were they doing and why is simply airbrushed out. Desperately frustrating.

7. There is a line in the film that is a direct reference to Alien. That was when i genuinely too against it.

8. The Xenomorph looked like one the ones from AvP. The Neomorphs were far nastier as they have recognisably human traits.

9. Final comment. Showers kill 2 people in this movie. Because with a murderous alien, that's what you'd take time out for.

For me, only the first two films in the franchise exist. Same with Terminator. It's much better that way.

Alien and Aliens work partly because they're a study in corporate greed. In both cases, those infected are just doing their day jobs.

What I like about them are the atmosphere and the Lovecraftian incomprehensibility of the creatures, Explaining them makes them less scary

Their partial human aspect as well. For me, its the teeth. Always reminded me of Bacon's 3 Studies for Figures at the Base of a Crucifixion.

Yes! I think Bacon was one of Giger's inspirations. Also, the weird phallic/vaginal symbolism makes them disturbing in a Freudian way.

It's often said that part of the aliens' horror is rape-related (eg. being penetrated by the phallic secondary jaws, being impregnated, etc)
