2. All the questions i would ask, indeed anyone smart would ask, are completely overlooked. Its a movie that treats the audience as stupid.
What I like about them are the atmosphere and the Lovecraftian incomprehensibility of the creatures, Explaining them makes them less scary

Their partial human aspect as well. For me, its the teeth. Always reminded me of Bacon's 3 Studies for Figures at the Base of a Crucifixion.

Yes! I think Bacon was one of Giger's inspirations. Also, the weird phallic/vaginal symbolism makes them disturbing in a Freudian way.
