The problem with education is that it doesn’t stop us from holding crazy beliefs; it makes us even better at rationalizing them.

I'd say that's a problem with how education is practiced. Education could teach people to critically think and question those beliefs.

Ok, but eventually you have to believe something. And if not, then you have to live your life in a certain way that makes assumptions. May as well rationalize your own beliefs and just own up to it.

And the smarter people are, the better they are at using good arguments to defend bad ideas. Also, where there is superstition, hatred or emotional attachment to bad ideas, reason and logic do nothing to ameliorate those bad ideas but instead become a servant for them.

One more thing I have realized: When superstition comes up again science superstition always wins because the evidence for its claims are its claims.

I'd say education prompted me to adopt some crazy beliefs.

Nothing has been more blackpilling about the effects of "education" than technocratic misrule over the past ~25 years.

Often times the credential one needs to prove they're an expert. Is the ability to rationalize their way to an opinion that basic intuition will tells them is wrong. See architects and brutalist architecture.

Some educators seek to reconstruct the fundamental idea of pedagogy to emphasize its responsiveness to cultural sensitivities & political sensibilities over its function to educate. Indoctrinating a rationalized methodological solipsism has replaced the goal of critical thinking.
