If you could create a perfect simulation of your brain, what would happen to your consciousness? Would you suddenly exist in two places at once, and if so, what would it be like to be thinking two sets of thoughts at the same time?

Is the underlying assumption here that the brain is the consciousness?

That consciousness is a property of functional brains.

I've always viewed the relationship as hardware & software. Both can exist independently but are useless/non-functional without the other. Viewing it as a property is interesting and raises the question: what is the difference b/w functional and non-functional brains?

For physicalists like myself, it's the same as the difference between a functional and nonfunctional TV.
