Question: Is there a PRO-hijab argument (or a version of it) which you personally find compelling? Why?

Except that it doesn't, really, as long as her face is uncovered.

It really depends on how you fulfill hijab (i.e. through khimār, burqa etc).

I think this is the best, most relatable argument from a feminist perspective, but the counter argument is that women shouldn't have to basically hide in public to be treated like human beings. There's a problem with society, not women's hair/faces.

This assumes a LOT about the society in question. Mainly that in such a society women are listened to and given credit for their abilities.

The same argument can be done for men.

The idea that being judged by the natural gift of intelligence is more noble than being judged by the natural gift of aesthetics just shows that the holder of the idea lacks the former gift.

I agree generally, and would even go so far as to say all aspects of behavior are natural gifts (curses?), although I disagree with your last point: Siddiqui was actually quite intelligent (if deluded).
