If you're self-isolating you'll probably be ordering more pizza than usual, so you may want to know: One 18-inch pizza is more pizza than two 12-inch pizzas.

Actual question. Any concerns from the food prep workers contaminating the pizza or more likely the box?

You're far more likely to be infected during a trip to obtain food from a takeaway or grocery store than by a pizza delivered to your home.

Figured. I’m immunosuppressed so a bit more cautious.

He’s wrong. My wife is immunosuppressed. Do NOT buy food that’s been prepared. Have someone bring you food. Sealed, boxed, frozen. Decontaminate boxes with soap and water if you’re nervous. Wash your hands well and prepare your own food. Contact me if you want real info.

FYI, he wasn’t “wrong”. He said nothing about having food brought to you, but was comparing relative risk of pizza delivery vs going out to buy things. A better thing to say is that he gave an incomplete answer and didn’t mention a better alternative to either of the options.

When someone says x < y, they are not saying x = 0. Nor are they saying that some other thing - let’s say z - isn’t lower than both x and y.

You have far too much confidence for someone who hasn't done even basic research. There's no evidence CoV is transmitted through food, and in any case it's much easier to sterilize a pizza than the entire environment you'd have to move through to "obtain supplies" .
