We idolize those who excel in a particular field, giving them the hubris to mislead themselves & others on matters they know little about. Musk’s sci-fi novel quote may be wise in response to a terrorist attack, but as a reaction to a pandemic it’s not just idiotic but deadly.https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1239031946962808832 …
He has an undergraduate degree in engineering, sure, but as far as I know he hasn't published any academic papers or invented anything himself. His real expertise is in envisioning projects and organizing teams of engineers to realize them.

"as far as I know" is the key component of that tweet. I followed you after that mega-thread on concepts for thinking, so I can only refer you back to that. If you would like to educate yourself, I invite you to learn more about Elon Musk. If not, continue on your merry way.

Degree in physics not engineering. He taught himself engineering, programming and business and are the best. He is the chief engineer and chief designer in SpaceX and behind almost every major technical decision. His underlying skill is data driven and first principle thinking.

This skill can be applied at many fields as has been demonstrated in the past two decades. His statement is basically asked people not to be panic. What exactly wrong with that?
