When we look back at philosophy in the 1300s, we chuckle most about preposterous questions such as "can multiple angels be in the same place". When people in 2700 look back at us, they will probably chuckle most about antinatalism.

AN here. I find Benatar's asymmetry wanting. Pain and pleasure aren't dichotomous, begs the question, pain on its own isn't sufficient to trigger ethical concerns, and it arguably attempts to quantify unquantifiables.

The Asymmetry and Quality of Life arguments are somewhat analogous to the difference in cognitive grip between reflectively held theological beliefs and intuitive superhuman entity concepts -- at least for, I think, most people receptive to Benatar.
