Hmm I might be missing something (is this measurement comparing a ratio of watts/kg?) Regardless, the temperature on the surface of the sun is ~5,778K and the core is insane. It’s one of the most efficient power generating objects in the Universe!

It's watts/cubic meter. Yes, sun's core is 15.7 million K, but, per meter cubed, it works out to less than the energy generation of compost. That makes it woefully inefficient!

Because most of the energy generated is trapped inside the sun, estimates range from few thousands of years to few million as sun is an opaque body, and keeps it from collapsing on itself

Oh yeah? Challenge accepted, scientists! From today, I’ll start adding to my compost heap until it’s as big as the sun. Then we’ll see if you’re right.
