I wrote about how an accidental apocalypse in a video game 15 years ago offers unparalleled insight into how humans would react to a Wuhan coronavirus worst case scenario. It isn’t pretty. @Rabbit_Hole_Maghttps://rabbitholemag.com/to-see-how-the-coronavirus-outbreak-might-play-out-look-at-this-virtual-plague/ …

I really enjoyed the article and it was well written. I think it didn't have to stretch at the end to find a positive note though. It's so cliché to do so.

I did consider ending on a pessimistic note (my natural inclination) but it just didn't feel true to life. I think we all know that, despite the bouts of collective insanity that often afflict our species, we'll beat coronavirus just as we beat a thousand other plagues.

I'm not against positivity and think mixing it in is fine. Even building to a positive ending. This just felt kinda like you deliberately made a sudden tone change because you wanted to end on a positive note. It's not badly written or anything; just the weakest part.

I think you’re right. The panic will be worse than the disease. Historically true, but even more so now with all of our on-line panic amplifiers.
