The Industrial Revolution reduced slavery's necessity enough for abolition. The lab-meat revolution will do the same for animal slaughter. Where ethics alone failed, easy access to lab-grown KFC will give us the moral courage to view factory farming as the nightmarish evil it is.

By the way, I know you are a farmer. My point was not a condemnation of your profession specifically, but of human beings generally for often subordinating ethics to convenience.

That's not the way it read. If I didn't know you better I would have taken it as an insult.

In Ireland cattle tend to be finished over their final winter on a diet of mostly grass silage supplemented by a cereal based high protein ration (soybean often a key ingredient). What environmental issue is there with that?

That's abstract ideology. My dad used to house his 29 cows for the winter, was he a factory farmer? Ranchers in the US have herds in the thousands on feedlots out doors, are they factory farmes
