Nothing in this world will ever betray you, apart from your expectations.

This is why betrayal by one’s mother is among the most wounding. Few of us are capable of letting go of expectations with regards to our own mother.

I don't see how this fits in with the original tweet though. Your tweet indicates your mother can betray (which is true!), and the original tweet claims that can't be the case. Ftr, I'm not criticizing your tweet - its the original that's meaningless.

I can't comment on Mart's tweet personally, but if a mother "betrays" her son, it was always in her nature to do so. The only real departure was from the son's expectations.

So, it was always in her nature to betray. It doesn't mean it didn't happen. Also, let's say she abandoned her child. But, he expected her to. Does that mean no betrayal happened? All good then?

You can't really betray someone who doesn't trust you.
