...primary motivator. For the power/control style sadist, domination *is* his sex...and rape, along with bondage, torture and ultimately murder is just one tool in that arsenal

I get what you're saying but my point is that even in these cases, rape is still chiefly about sex. It's just that the rapist's sexual urges are so alien to the rest of us that they don't seem to be about sex.

Yes, a power/control murder is *ultimately* about sex, even if there is no sexual contact. People have argued that the Zodiac, for example, was not sexually motivated, bc no sexual contact. It's just that terrorizing his victims and later the city of SFO got him off.

The Zodiac was an atypical killer because he targeted both men and women equally. I'm not so sure that *he* was motivated by sex; seems he was motivated more by the thrill of screwing with the police, hence all the riddles he left them. Killers like him are exceptions though.

..her in the car "I am going to kill you" He did this because he got off on her fear. Ted Bundy did the same thing, he would tell his victims that he was going to kill them - as their fear turned him on.

I thought he was nothing more than a thrill killer until I read this book - which made me come around to thrill + power /control. He was also obsessed with the idea of becoming the executioner in The Mikado, so *domination* was clearly central to his paraphilia.

Arson can also be a sex crime, as it is the power over others that is the turn on for the offender. Proximally - no sex- ultimately, sexual. Think Peter Kurten and David Berkowitz, who both started fires before embarking on their murderous careers. There was even an SK who...

who would derail trains and ejaculate afterwards. Szilveszter Matuska - I cannot find any information on him online, it is stuck inside one of the many books I have. Anyway, sorry for spamming you! This subject is fascinating.

When this arsonist's video of his handiwork first came out in the 90s, I thought that the arsonist sounded like he found it sexually gratifying. It's very creepy.https://youtu.be/OTlGWrssxGw
