One of, definitely. His performance in "Boogie Nights" just blew me away.https://twitter.com/arttavana/status/1217275246941630465 …

I’ll add to the chorus here. My favorite performances of his: -Boogie Nights -Almost Famous -Talented Mr. Ridley -Big Lebowski -Happiness -Charlie Wilson’s War (movie’s not great, but Hoffman is) -Synecdoche, NY Plus some I’m leaving out. And such very different parts!

God, Synecdoche, NY was one of the most punishing viewing experiences of my life. I would replace it on this list with Before the Devil Knows You're Dead.

I thought it was very good when I watched it, parts have stuck with me, quite a bit, and I wouldn’t want to see it again.

Hmm. First time I watched it, I was hugely disappointed (Charlie Kaufman is my favorite screenwriter and I expected another Adaptation). However, with each subsequent viewing, I pieced together more of what turned out to be an elaborate puzzle, and my appreciation soared.
