Most people don’t believe in ideologies; they believe in ideologues.

Would it be correct to extend it to “ People do not believe in religion, they believe in the prophet”?

To an extent. The idea is that most people don't follow an ideal directly; they follow people who follow an ideal.

My question is how do you come up with your tweets? Just random epiphanies? Do you write regularly? (I understand you're writing a book, but other than that)

I write articles regularly-ish, and very occasionally work on my book (though that's right at the back of the queue at the moment). Ideas come to me while writing, but also while walking, washing up, etc. Sometimes my thoughts are prompted by something I just read on my TL.

First thing I’m reminded of is wokeness. Appears to be an ideology but is propagated by a relatively small group of ideologues in media and academia. So I guess I’d agree.

I agree. That's how things deteriorated in Nazi Germany. Hitler was so charismatic that, to some extent, people lost sight of the ideology. In Monty Python's 'Life of Brian' there's a scene that exemplifies this phenomenon.

💯 The latter as an extension of the former is all most people need. It's easier to follow.
