Admit it: the last line came first and then you had to write a tweet for it. No?

Actually, no. The last line came to me afterwards, while I was... ...ahem... ...washing dishes.

We've moved from the age of musket debates to preloaded cartridge debates, and I fear there is no going back. Too instantly gratifying imho. All tech seems to do is stoke instant gratification to new extremes.

That's what it looks like to me. If you're thirsty for productive arguing, I would accept a topic or position and we could hash out over https://letter.wiki/conversations who is the morally deficient monster with the wrongest ideas.

Perhaps we debate too much through feelings than reason. Personally, I think a helpful balance is possible. Too little or no feeling and the debate becomes 'robotic' and potentially alienating; too little reason and it potentially collapses into meaningless projections.

The platform is designed to elicit & promote real-time commentary. Twitter could add tools and algorithms for deeper & slower contemplative discussion but it would be at the cost of their primary revenue streams.

It's all driven by ego, no one wants to listen and no one will do anything to effect the change they say they are advocating for. Most sides on any topic are all very similar in this regard, arguing for moral superiority and calling it activism.
