Why are Nordic people so tall/big historically speaking? I’ve heard berserkers were on average over 6 feet tall. Wouldn’t you need to be more compact to conserve energy? I’m thinking of the Inuit in northern Canada

Yes, I could see this trait evolving in humans in the context of sufficient nutrition. Sexual selection by women for big males may also have been a strong force in a society that valued warriors so highly.
