The great mistake that intellectuals make is that knowledge must be articulable. Most knowledge is intuitive. And most articulation is erroneous.

(My POV being we have an instinct for beauty. We might also call this a side effect from our drive to discovering “interesting” information we might manipulate as we’re constantly creatively assessing for meaning)

Acting intuitively may not rely on conscious reasoning but that doesn't mean an intuitive impulse doesn't develop from foresight built from it. Instinct isn't always a response to immediate unknowns. Sometimes it's a long term bet on potential outcomes built on partial insights.
