The capacity for people who don’t scrutinise their own ideas to write and post them at a faster rate than people who do is responsible for much of the corruption of our discourse.

My thoughts so far: 1) Steemit used upvotes, which can be gamed with bots. Idea markets will not. Visibility will correspond with vested financial interest only. 2) Steemit posts seem to aim for short-term. Idea markets are for long-term, society-wide value conversations.

Steemit votes are ultimately bought with real money, so, as far as I can tell, it works a lot like the vested financial interest you mention. And I'm not sure that pricing ideas (and therefore pricing people out) is the best way to "long-term, society-wide value conversations".
