This would be considered a sign of either sheer stupidity, mental illness, or an emotional or cognitive developmental disorder in *most any other context outside of politics* It is time we face this reality across the L/R divide

I think people do so is because criticisms of their side often serve as justification used by the other for their positions. (For instance the left's anger at Weinstein for appearing on Fox following Evergreen) Perhaps criticisms must always be ground within advice for growth.

I thought about this and wondered why is it that divergence or questions about the nature and axioms of the group is always treated badly from the in group. The opposition welcomes dissent on the other hand. It seems evolutionarily negative for the group that doesn't accept it.

I've tweeted in defense of Trump when people have lied about him, and I inevitably get "ew, a Trump supporter!" A quick search on his name and my account would disabuse them of this notion.
