The bullets of a gunman are not the totality of a terrorist attack, but merely its beginning. The rest of the attack is committed by ordinary people when they react by jumping to conclusions and posting angry and ill-considered content that spreads lies, hate, fear and division.

The word ‘terrorism’ is actually a misnomer, because it is more about sowing fury & hatred than terror. Outrage spreads faster than fear, and also makes populations less cautious (and more chaotic) than fear alone would, making it a better tool by which to destabilise societies.

Not sure on that. Anger and fury comes out of fear - which is borne of not being in control of events. Terror is probably limited to those who are immediately present. Fear is the residue.

Anger is a separate emotion from fear. It's possible to be angry at something without ever being afraid of it, and vice versa.
