As human lives get ever more automated, reducing the number of opportunities to meet others face-to-face, people may increasingly rely on Netflix and Hollywood to learn the nuances of social interaction, resulting in an epidemic of people acting like movie and sitcom characters.

Propaganda work relies on this. Without direct contact with the target culture, people empathise with whatever caricature the media comes up with and bam! One new public opinion coming right up!

Not me bro. I got a room full of mannequins, all dressed for high tea, and I practice floating from table to table like a gracious, gregariously charming, bitingly witty host.

The young do it already with YouTubers. AI will teach humans how to be human. Then how to be obsolete.

On the plus side, could the (partial) replacement of in-person interaction with social media open the door for more nuanced or skilled written communication (and its interpretation thereof)? I'm not an expert, I'd just be curious.

I think we already see some of that in how emotions are shown through variations in text that weren't ysed in written communications before, i.e., the difference between "I guess." and "i guess??" or the use of alternating capitals for sarcasm

Read about the 'YouTube dialect'. New creators, mimicked successful creators in an attempt to find the best way to communicate to massive audiences. This meant varing their inflections, and changing speech patterns. The result; thousands of PewDiePie clones.
