It's also assumed that what someone said represents meaning and fixed value when our thoughts are constantly updating, along with our motives and perspective. It's a maze, daze and haze of information. Sincerity and integrity are chimeras.

The interesting thing about the PR perspective, is that as that we as the public get to decide what the "good" narrative should be. Let's make one's ability to grow and change views with evidence part of a "sound character"

A public figure did something wrong when younger. Let us assume he or she has improved in intervening years, and now regrets the actions in question. Is (s)he unfit for office? If not, would any course of present action properly deal with the past _and_ avoid this branding?
