Empathy is not a finite resource. You don’t need to triage your compassion. To reserve your concern only for the most deserving is to do nothing but ration infinite imagination.

Re: Observations. They do, but it does not follow that they have to. Otherwise I quite agree with the reckon- but too many people are awfully quick to revoke all empathy for ultimately objectively trivial reasons. A facial expression, for example- or what they are wearing.
