Empathy is not a finite resource. You don’t need to triage your compassion. To reserve your concern only for the most deserving is to do nothing but ration infinite imagination.

You mean compassion? I find that empathy is not only finite but very limited.

Seeing things from others' points of view is only as limited as you want it to be (lifespan notwithstanding).

Hmm but doesn't empathy require an extra element of feeling their emotions as well?I think the most fundamental version, only seeing but not analysing from another's pov, is a prerequisite for both empathy and compassion, yet it doesn't necessarily lead to either.
