What’s interesting about the switch of the Covington narrative from that of an innocent Native American victimised by villainous school kids to innocent schoolkids victimised by villainous leftists is the persistence of the story template of innocents victimised by villains.
People certainly do villainous things, and many do innocent things, but I wouldn't describe villainy or innocence as core parts of anyone's character, and I think there is actually a danger in reducing people to such indelible caricatures.

Innocents are often unable to see true villainy.
