One bias that’s pervasive on Twitter is the “ultimate attribution error”: Ascribing bad actions by opponents to character, bad actions by allies to external factors, good actions by opponents to external factors, and good actions by allies to character. Please stop this shit.

I've probably done this. It can be pretty hard to be objective, especially when the in-group, out-group mentality is so strong. How do we catch and stop ourselves from doing this?

We’re all guilty of it sometimes. The only cure I know of is to always be alert to it, and to make a habit of not jumping to conclusions about the reasons for people’s behaviour.
