You're talking about acknowledging inconvenient evidence. His statement was not. He thoroughly understands distributions and how small differences play out among large groups. It does not translate into: "people who have to deal with black employees find this is not true"

The reason the left works hard to hide this evidence is precisely for this reason - it provides terrible cover for bigots to distort and amplify the worst pieces for their own ignominious ends.
