Freedom of speech is a hill I’m willing to die on, but one thing I dislike about the pro-free-speech crowd is that it’s filled with people who are really campaigning for freedom to be an asshole.

By what authority were you appointed to decide who is an "asshole" or not? Seems a bit of an elitist position to take.

You might not like being called that but your tweet is the literal definition of the term. It is not me using a subjective judgement about what is offensive or not. If not you, then who would you nominate/trust to decide whether someone is an asshole.

And so what if they are? Seems like your position is that those who say things you don't agree with should not have the benefit of free speech. Hope I am not misunderstanding you but that is the way it comes across.

Many others are too judging from the replies. Seriously I am interested in what point you are trying to make. Is it simply "I have the right to decide who I think is an "asshole" and treat them as I see fit"??
