I'd suggest reading @primalpoly, @SteveStuWill, and @StuartJRitchie on this. (Long story short: IQ is a strong predictor of far too many real-world outcomes to be dismissed as a "pseudometric").

By antagonising his critics publicly he is opening his ideas to the downside of extreme crowdsourced scrutiny and nitpicking. This is precisely skin in the game.
-
If that's skin in the game, then the IYIs he accuses of having no skin in the game do in fact have skin in the game.

Taleb is right on this one. You can't claim a relationship, when the maths refute there being one. It is no good to claim to be a bastion of rational thought then build a house on mathematically refuted claims.

The maths refute nothing. Check again.

Taleb thinks IQ tests measure nothing but how brainwashed you are. This is bullshit, because IQ tests are composed of questions testing *independent* reasoning, similar to math tests. IQ is also highly heritable, and a predictor of real-world outcomes.https://twitter.com/SteveStuWill/status/1057962279713435650 …
