Most people find it difficult to identify themselves as simply liberal or conservative because they consider themselves to be liberal on some issues and conservative on others.

When some start identifying as a liberal/conservative they cease to think. They let these labels determine their views on various matters. Remember: you are not the ideology with which you associate. You have the ability to discern right/wrong without the aid of borrowed labels.
