A good litmus test for the quality of a society is what level of frankness do those in the spotlight seem to/ are allowed to hold. If those in power/fame cannot be frank, then you know the information that flows through the system with the most liquidity is the least reliable.

The problem though with such a lose trust system is how vulnerable it is to Sybil attacks. Do enough anons repeating untruths ad nauseum make them truths? For a lot of people... yes. Anonymity doesn’t necessarily increase truth but it does alleviate people from consequences.

It probably allows for extremes on both sides (truth and fabrication), whereas the person maintaining a name, generally, will moderate as to not trigger a mob (out of fear for losing their job).
