Kavanaugh's speech didn't confirm or refute his guilt, but it did confirm that he is egotistical (used his high status as a defence), histrionic (relied on loaded language & conspiracy theory), and hot-headed (trembled with rage throughout) - all terrible qualities for a judge.
I don't think that's much of an achievement. You said yourself, people's minds were already made up before the hearing.
