Devil’s advocate here; there’s reason for caution on the other side of that argument also tho. Even when they hear an idiot, other idiots don’t recognize the idiocy and tend to agree with the original idiot. Sadly, the vast majority appear to be idiots.

True enough. But censorship gives a legitimacy to what is being censored in the minds of those who agree, making enlightening idiots more difficult. Very little encourages emotional bunkering more than being told to shut up.
